About the “Myth Show”

The “Myth Show” is a podcast for Educators, Writers, and Fans of Mythology.

Each episode, I will discuss an aspect of a myth, folk lore, or tall tale from the many wonderful culters around the world.

For this podcast, my working definition of “Mythology” will be very wide and generous. It covers most everything from the gods and individuals in ancient mythologies (Zeus, Hercules, Thor, etc.), the newer folk stories (Jonny Appleseed and Paul Bunyan), and fairy tales (Cinderella and The Brothers Grimm). I want to expand peoples knowledge of the many excellent stories that have been used to teach each of us for many years.

The podcast is called the Myth Show because the “Mythological, Folk Lore and Fairy Tale Podcast Show” would be a very long web address!

Audience:

Educators: I hope this is a resource for those educating the upcoming generation about the stories from our pasts.

Writers: No source of inspiration for todays writers of any genre is greater than the mythologies that surround us. If Shakespeare could use mythological creatures in his writings, why not us!

Fans of Mythology: I hope everyone is able to enjoy the stories available that have been passed down through the ages or short years to us. Please share these stories to enrich the lives of the upcoming generation.

Format:

Essay: Each episode of the MythShow will contain an essay on a topic from myths, mythology, folklore, or fairy tales at the beginning of the show.

Show Announcements/Listener Feedback: To help make the MythShow easy to use in a class room (or another educational setting) the show announcements and listener feedback will be at the end of the show. This way those who use these shows as educational tools can play the shows from the beginning and not need to fast-forward to the “good part.”
